CADalytic Media and Your Privacy
The privacy practices described in this Privacy Policy, including any changes of which we may inform you, apply to all items and services authored by CADalytic Media (including but not limited to websites and products) and how our affiliates utilize specific data that we send them. By visiting this website you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use or access our services.
Introduction
There are three components of data collection that have privacy ramifications:
- information we collect during general web browsing
- registration information
- attributes of your design data
In the following sections, we will spell out our privacy policy for these components.
Web Browsing
CADalytic Media is currently engaging the services of Rackspace Ltd., a SAS 70 Type II-certified company, for our web hosting, database, and email services. Our web site can secure your private information using a VeriSign SSL Certificate. Information exchanged with any address beginning with https is encrypted using SSL before transmission.
In order to enhance your web browsing experience, our websites may employ the use of cookies and web beacons.Cookies are small data files that are put onto your computer while you are browsing a web page. They enhance your web browsing experience in various ways. For example, cookies allow a website to know if a particular user has visited the site before. You can always disable cookies in your browser, but be aware that your web browsing experience may not be as efficient.
A web beacon or a pixel tag can also be used to pass along the IP address of the computer that has accessed the image. If you disable cookies in your browser, information that the image has been accessed is still recorded but from an anonymous user.
Registration
You are asked to register on our site before you download our applications. We use this customer information to better serve our customers. For example, if we notice that an application is being used by a particular profession, it behooves us to provide better functionality for that profession.
In addition, registration allows us to notify you of the most up-to-date information including but not limited to Privacy Policy changes. Note that this service is an added benefit, and users are still responsible for periodically checking this web page for updates to the policy. This user responsibility is detailed in the End User License Agreement that must be accepted in order to install our applications.
As noted, we are currently engaging the services of Rackspace, Ltd. to host our data. Please refer to Section 14 of their Masters Services Agreement with respect to your private information here. In the event that Rackspace's privacy policy changes, we will re-evaluate our relationship with them to ensure that their policy is acceptable.
CADalytic Media will not share your personal data to the best of our abilities with any other third party without your explicit permission unless there are special circumstances. These circumstances include but are not limited to the following:
- We may release account and other personal information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law.
- In the event that we sell or transfer all or part of our business, customer information generally is one of the transferred business assets but remains subject to these pre-existing commitments.
We strive to protect your personal information. For all our sites, we leverage the advanced security technology provided by our service provider and adhere to current best practices with respect to security to ensure that your personal data remain private within our site. However, since no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or which we transmit to you from our online products or services.
Collection of Design Data Attributes
The foundation of our services is the collection of attributes from your design data and sending these attributes to specific services in order to provide you with relevant content. When you are using our applications, several things happen:
- Attributes of your design data are sent to our website. This event (which includes the attributes and the originating IP address, the IP address of your computer or network) is logged on our website.
- Our website sends these attributes to a pay-for-placement search engine in order to leverage their sponsored link technology. At this point, pay-for-placement search engine is not made aware of the originating IP address (the pay-for-placement search engine only knows that CADalytic Media has sent the message).
- Our applications present web-based information from our website including but limited to the results from pay-for-placement search engine technology.
- In the event you click on a sponsored link, the pay-for-placement search engine records information that may include but is not limited to the originating IP address, the embedded browser used by our applications, and the operating system.
We consider the data collected under (1) as your personal information since it is associated with an originating IP address. Thus, we treat this information as described in the Registration section above. We may, however, look for trends of our customers striving to better serve you and communicate these trends to our affiliates. For example, if we realize that customers designing a specific component often want information on a related component, it behooves our affiliated manufacturers and suppliers to present this associated information along with the original component.
Any data that is collected by the pay-for-placement search engine under (2) and (4) including but not limited to cookies and web beacons is subject to the pay-for-placement search engine's privacy policy. In the event that pay-for-placement search engine's privacy policy changes, we will re-evaluate our relationship with them to ensure that their policy is acceptable. Again, as an added benefit of registering with us, we will inform all registered users of either a change in pay-for-placement search engine's privacy policy or alert registered users that we are changing search service providers. If either of these actions are deemed unacceptable by a registered user, the user's only recourse will be to cease using our services. Again, this user responsibility is detailed in the End User License Agreement that must be accepted in order to install our applications.
Since (3) constitutes use of our website, the policies outlines in the Web Browsing section above apply. Also, (3) leverages Microsoft embedded Internet Explorer technology, any browser functionality you may want to enable or disable is associated with this technology.
Children
The CADalytic Media website and products are not to be used by unsupervised children. If you are under 18, you may use items authored by CADalytic Media only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

This Privacy Policy will change from time to time. Again, registered users will be notified by email of any changes. Each version will be noted at the top of the page. Prior versions of this Privacy Policy will be kept in an archive for you to view here.
